Manufacturing is vital to national defense

It’s been more than 200 days without any action on steel and aluminum imports that threaten our country's national security, despite promises from the president. Meanwhile, plants are idle, imports are rising and workers’ jobs are at risk. Every day without action is another day that hurts USW members, our communities and our nation. Please join us in urging the Trump administration to keep its promises by signing our petition at www.usw.org/232

Tax Bill Encourages Corps. to Ship Jobs Overseas

Call Your Senators at 877-607-0785 – As tax reform looms over Capitol Hill, it is important to understand what could be at stake. Cuts are heavily weighted to corporations and the wealthiest. According to the Tax Policy Center, “Compared to current law, 9 percent of taxpayers would pay more in 2019, 12 percent in 2025, and 50 percent in 2027.” Those increases fall to low- and middle-income Americans, rather than the wealthiest. In selling the plan, proponents argue that benefits will trickle down to the middle class, despite these increases. Reality says something different.

Goodyear: #USWMade NASCAR Tires

Inside every Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series tire is a name — the name of a Steelworker from Local Union 2L in Akron, Ohio. For 69 years, 255 of our brothers and sisters have made these Goodyear tires by hand, ensuring every tire shipped out of the plant is not just a quality product, but one that will keep NASCAR drivers safe during races as they hit speeds exceeding 200 miles per hour.
