Time for Republic to act professional and stop dragging out Negotiations!
Your USW Negotiating Committee reconvened on September 19 and met with Republic Steel to receive their most recent counter offer, which was almost exactly the same as their eight previous offers.
We met with them again the following day, and presented a counter proposal that addressed many of their concerns while remaining steadfast concerning our wage and benefit increases.
We were scheduled to meet with them again on the 21st, but Republic was not prepared to bargain in good faith, so nothing was accomplished----A Lost Day!!
Your negotiating committee was present and prepared, and once again Republic officials have been acting unprofessionally and dragging this out unnecessarily. Your USW Negotiating Committee remains committed to bargaining in good faith to preserve what we have gained in the past and enhance our wages and benefits for the future!
