Contentious bargaining with Republic; Company keeps dragging out the process
Our USW Bargaining Committee met with Republic Steel representatives during these past three days (July 18 – 20).
Proposals and counter-proposals were exchanged. Our Union is waiting on information requests our Committee submitted in order to analyze efficiently the proposals presented by the company.
Bargaining is always contentious but with Republic Steel it is especially so!!!
The company has let the union know that they will possibly be available Thursday, July 28th. Meanwhile, our Union remains available the rest of this week and all of next week.
Our Bargaining Committee is tasked with negotiating a fair and equitable contract that respects the hard work and dedication that you show every day.
