USW International President David McCall and Leslie Marshall reflect on Tom Conway's legacy

USW International President David McCall appeared on the Leslie Marshall Show last week to reflect on the legacy of Tom Conway, former president of the USW, who passed away on Sept. 25.

"We suffered a tremendous loss, but we as a union are strong and resilient," McCall said. "Much of that is thanks to Tom's leadership and vision."

McCall and Marshall discussed several enduring aspects of Conway's leadership, including innovative bargaining, investment in worker development, diverse organizing initiatives, pension protection and more.

"Throughout Tom's career, he was always focusing on what the future would be for our members and their families," said McCall. "I look forward to continuing Tom's work, but the challenge is going to be much smoother for me because of the work he did over the last four years as our international president and certainly the work he did for 15 years before as vice president."
