USW Jefferson Award Winner: Katrina Fitzgerald

Location: Canton, OH

Service Work: Katrina volunteers through PAC, WOS, United Way Labor CARES,and within her local. She coordinates a yearly car wash to benefit a domestic violence shelter; she runs an annual golf scramble to benefit women military veterans; she participates in parades and monthly children’s community events, showing pride in her community and educating community members about legislation that affects working people. Katrina was instrumental in forming a specific program in partnership with United Way to benefit members of the labor community. In her local she serves as grievance officer and as an executive board member.

Hours: 2,500+ hours

Community Impact: Katrina supports the USW in many ways and has truly made an impact on Stark County.

Outstanding Quality: Katrina is kind and well educated, selflessly serving others.  She focuses on positive change and is always supporting the USW.
