Contact: Tony Montana (412) 562-2592

TUCSON, Az. – The United Steelworkers (USW) today said that workers represented by eight international unions will rally for a fair contract prior to resuming negotiations with Asarco/Grupo Mexico management on Monday, July 28, 2014.

Over 2,000 workers at five Asarco/Grupo Mexico locations in Arizona and Texas have been working under the terms of a previous agreement while negotiations proceed, extended with a 15-day notice to terminate for more than a year since it expired.
Union members will rally with signs to send the message to Asarco/Grupo Mexico management that despite the slow pace of negotiations, workers are stronger and more united than ever.
