USW Cares: Local 831 Joins with Salvation Army to Ring In The Season

Each year United Steelworker Local 831 in Providence, NC, donates time and money to the Salvation Army cause. As of December 11, 2014 the total gate collection effort was $ 2240.65. Members are braving the cold and volunteering for bell ringing each Friday. These folks really knew how to fill the buckets.

And last but not least, a total of 36 angels were adopted thanks to 831 members, SOAR members and Goodyear payroll and curing.

The Executive Officers of Local 831 wish to send a special "Thank You" to all who donated the time and resources to this worthy cause.

This project is just one of so many USW's amazing members do every day to give back to our communities. If you or your local are doing good things in your community, we want to hear about them. Let us know and share video and photos at www.usw.org/uswcares and use the #USWCares hashtag when you post your stories on social media. Don't forget to shout out @Steelworkers!
