Important AFL-CIO NextUp Summit Information

First, if you haven’t checked out the NextUp agenda, click here to review it. After you register on Thursday, please visit the Steelworkers table between from 1-3 to get your T-shirt and other important information you’ll need for the summit.

There’s two very important Steelworker-specific agenda items you need to be aware of:

  1. On Saturday morning during the action session, we will be taking buses to the Fight for $15 Rally. We need to finalize our transportation so please click here to RSVP to ensure you have a ride.
  2. On Saturday from 6-8 p.m., there will be a Steelworkers-only caucus in the Hotel’s Marquette Room on the third floor. You’ll hear a short program with updates about the USW’s young worker program – Next Generation – and have a chance to meet and network with each other. Appetizers and drinks will be provided.

To get text updates from the USW throughout the summit, send USWNEXTUP to 47486. Standard message and data rates may apply.

Please note, there will be a handful of Steelworkers on workshop panels and while you’re free to support your brothers and sisters by attending those workshops, you are also encouraged to try something new if it interests you. Also, keep in mind that you’re representing your local union and the USW and should be an active participant in all workshops. We will provide you with materials to complete a report that you will be expected to share when you return home.

If you have any issues or need help while you’re in Chicago, call or text Mollie Relihan at 724-713-7513 or Rachel Nunes at 412-952-5076.
