The 120 members of USW Local 9176 in Toronto, Ontario were forced on strike in September 2013 after Crown demanded major concessions from employees. Now, Crown wants to discard 75% of the workers, even if they settle the year-long strike.
Strikers are traveling to Crown Holding’s corporate headquarters in Philadelphia to confront the company’s CEO and top executives. We believe Crown is out to bust the union and is not interested in negotiating an end to this dispute.
After the rally, a reception for the strikers hosted by Insulators and Asbestos Workers Local #14 will follow from 5:30 to 7:30 at their union hall, located .25 miles across the road from Crown’s HQ at 2014 Hornig Rd.
