Dates Set for Asarco Bargaining to Resume

Our Unified Bargaining Committee will resume negotiations with Asarco management later this month, and has already scheduled additional dates in January.

We are scheduled to meet with Asarco in Mesa, Ariz., on December 19 and 20, 2023, and again on January 16, 17 and 18, 2024.

We expect Asarco to respond to the unions’ economic proposals.

The Unified Bargaining Committee last met with Asarco’s representatives on November 14, 15 and 16, in Mesa, when we presented management with proposals covering major economic provisions.

Among our unions’ numerous demands are proposals to fix Asarco’s decades-long wage stagnation, the unjust 401k plan, inadequate vacation and the company’s unilateral shifting of healthcare costs onto the backs of employees.

As we continue to make progress at the table thanks to your solidarity, our unions will continue to pursue justice for Asarco management’s unfair labor practices through the NLRB process and support the ongoing USMCA rapid response investigation into its corporate parent, Grupo Mexico.

With your continued support, we will achieve JUSTICE and DIGNITY in COPPER

Work safe fellow workers!
