Last Tuesday was my last day at work

I'm Kori Sherwood and I've worked as a Millwright at U.S. Steel Minntac in Minnesota for 2 years. My life changed for the better for me and my daughter when I got this job but in late May that all came to a crashing halt. May 26, 2015, was my last day of work.

Kori"You finally think you get your life in order — buy a truck, buy a home," she said, "and it all falls apart.

On June 3, participate in the National Call-in Day to stop Fast Track and protect American jobs. Call your Representative by dialing our toll-free number: 866-202-5409.

The work we do on the Iron Range supports families and communities, and the Taconite we mine is used by many other companies to make steel and steel products. Sadly, the impact of the 350 layoffs at Minntac will be felt far and wide. Who’s to blame? Illegally dumped imports from overseas.

Trade deals that were passed under Fast Track have weakened our manufacturing sector costing our country more than a million American jobs, including mine.

I believe we can stop Fast Track, but I need your help.

On Wednesday, June 3 call your member of Congress by dialing our toll-free number: 866-202-5409 and tell them to oppose Fast Track and support American workers.

In Solidarity,
Kori Sherwood, USW Local Union 1938
