2015 Oil Bargaining Training

Please be advised there is an Oil Bargaining Training Conference for the Workers/Negotiating Committee and the Health and Safety Representatives for your location. The conference is scheduled May 4 - 6, 2015 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for local unions having membership in oil and related chemical groups.

The training is to educate and explain the details of the letter agreements that are part of the 2015 NOBP Settlement.  The Maintenance Training and Development letter addresses the issue of contractors performing day-to-day maintenance in our refineries and related chemical plants.  This work is our bargaining unit work and should be performed by us. There are some specific actions that need to happen in order to fulfill the letter agreement and regain this work.  The Fatigue Management letter addresses the issue of staff/workload balance assessment and pay as it relates to scheduling.

Training and educating on these two letters of agreement is crucial to enforcement and successful implementation. The Letter Agreements spell out several items to be discussed.  This training will assist you in working through these items and help you understand the direction we are going with this.

Check-in at the conference is Sunday, May 3, from 1:00-6:00pm and on Monday, May 4, between 8:00-9:00am.  The conference starts Monday, May 4 at 9:00am and will end Wednesday, May 6 early afternoon.

Please mark these dates on your calendar and be sure to make appropriate arrangements for an appropriate delegation of members charged with enforcement of the labor agreement to attend this very important training.  Lost time and expenses will be borne by the local union.
