Bridgestone Master Bargaining Update July 22, 2022

Bargaining Update | July 22, 2022 | Click here to download a printable version of this update.

Your bargaining committee continues to impress upon Bridgestone that we need to obtain a fair and equitable contract through discussions with management and in our proposals at the bargaining table. Unfortunately, the company has yet to offer an agreement that meets the economic needs of our members.

In the meantime, you have shown tremendous support by holding gate and flagpole rallies and other demonstrations at all of the plants. In addition, the USW Batlight made an appearance at the Des Moines plant last week to also remind the company that we are standing together.

The membership and the committee need to continue to send a strong message to Bridgestone that we are not taking steps backward in order to allow them to continue to make record profits without rewarding the workers that produce the quality products that customers and the market demand.

Your committee will continue bargaining until the expiration date of July 29.  We sincerely hope that Bridgestone is prepared to reach a fair agreement.

We will continue to keep you updated as we get closer to our contract deadline.
