On Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, our USW negotiating committee presented a comprehensive contract proposal that addressed the issues our membership has identified as important priorities as well as some of the subjects that management has sought to change.
In a “Negotiation Update” message posted to its website, the company acknowledged receiving our proposal and claimed to be “immediately” developing a response. Management says it will “provide a counterproposal early next week.”
Although we cannot predict what the company’s idea of a counterproposal will entail, our committee looks forward to receiving and reviewing it – if only as a yardstick to judge our progress so far.
We appreciate the opportunity to work through the collective bargaining process methodically and deliberately, and we understand the importance of our task.
ATI management needs to understand that we are united for a fair contract and prepared to continue working as long as it takes.
