Jan. 17: Bargaining Hindered by ATI's Difficulty Providing Information

Our USW negotiating committee remained in Pittsburgh this week to continue bargaining with ATI management for a new contract.

We have earned and deserve wages, benefits and contract language provisions that keep ATI steelworkers on track with the industry standard, but based on the proposals we have seen so far, management has other intentions.

Considering ATI’s stated desire for a fair contract, the company has been slow to provide information we need, especially after taking into account the variety and depth of the changes management has proposed.

Some discussions regarding local and master agreement issues have continued. The pace of bargaining is slow, but please be confident that your patience, solidarity and continued support for your bargaining committee will result in a fair contract.

Your negotiating committee is focused on bargaining in good faith to achieve our goals. In the meantime, we will continue our efforts to engage management in more meaningful and productive discussions.

As always, please focus on working safely, and we will share information as our bargaining proceeds.

SOLIDARITY IS OUR STRENGTH
