No Movement on Wages, Unacceptable Healthcare Concessions

On Thursday, Feb. 13, our committee received a proposal from ATI management that reflects little progress toward our goal of negotiating a fair contract. On major economics, ATI has not moved from its original wage offer, which was inadequate when bargaining began.

While we have proposed to maintain our current benefits, management’s latest healthcare proposal includes dangerous, unacceptable and possibly regressive provisions that strictly limit ATI’s future contributions but expose USW members and our families to thousands of dollars in potential cost increases.

Steelworkers at ATI produce the highest quality steel for its customers safely, reliably and consistently on schedule, but in addition to the above, we also have yet to resolve a fair attendance policy, issues with incentives and concerns we brought to the table specific to our office and technical units, among other items.

The company’s drive to undermine generations of collective bargaining progress still includes changes that would restrict seniority rights and use of FMLA while expanding management’s ability use contractors for production work.

As contract expiration approaches, we must continue to show ATI that we are united together in our fight for the fair contract we deserve.

Please be sure to focus on working safely and keep in touch with members of your local CAT for the latest reliable information.

SOLIDARITY IS OUR STRENGTH!
