Bargaining Resumes, ATI Demands Persist

Although the USW has made it clear to ATI that we are available for bargaining around the clock, seven days a week for months, until we challenged them to participate in in-person, continuous bargaining last week, ATI management refused to take us up on the offer.

ATI representatives were only willing to meet virtually until March 26, 2021, when management finally agreed to meet with the local union presidents. The company’s efforts that day fell short in trying to convince our leaders to accept the company’s unfair and unnecessary contract demands.

Our USW committee has been meeting in person and complying with COVID precautions since January, and management could have done the same if they were sincere and willing to reach a fair contract.

Finally, management agreed to meet in-person this week. We met throughout the day Monday and most of the day today. At 4 p.m., management informed us that although we made progress, there were still significant differences and that they were breaking off for the day and left the meeting.

Our bargaining committee will convene together on Thursday to discuss the open issues, and we will provide a complete report after the meeting.

We stand together in unity and will not allow ATI to divide us.

Stay strong! Stay united! Our solidarity and determination will prevail!

In unity,

Your USW/ATI Negotiating Committee
