Workers Memorial Day 2021: Renew the Promise; Safe Jobs for All
On April 28, the USW and all unions of the AFL-CIO will observe Workers Memorial Day to remember those who have suffered and died on the job, and to renew the fight for safe jobs.
Steelworkers in this sector work on water, sewer and utility lines, as well as in residential plumbing, heating and air conditioning. They make pipe for the oil and gas industries as well as parts for the green energy economy, including windmills and solar panels. They make internal combustion engines, steam engines and hydraulic turbines.
