ROTAN, Texas (October 21, 2015) — Members of USW Local 13-0074, located in Rotan, TX, reached a labor agreement with National Gypsum. The members voted overwhelmingly to accept the agreement after months of negotiating with the company.

The one-year agreement reached last week and ratified by the membership on Monday, October 19, covers approximately 57 production and maintenance workers. It includes wage increases, measures to safeguard pensions, leave language, and other improvements to working conditions according to United Steelworkers Staff Representative Freddie Sanchez who along with the bargaining unit negotiated the contract.

USW District 13 Director Ruben Garza congratulated negotiators for the union on reaching a fair contract and said “We are gratified to have addressed many important issues to our members through the collective bargaining process,” Garza said.
