USW Offers Resources For Members in the Chemical Sector

USW staffers gave presentations at each of the three chemical council meetings held the past month.

Members of the 3M, Evonik and Solvay councils learned about the health of the chemical sector and each of their respective companies, USW’s Building Power program, organizing, health and safety, legislation and communications.

For Building Power training, locals can request it via their staff representatives. Ideally, training should be done three to six months before bargaining starts.

The USW also offers free online education for all members on courses including union steward training, grievance writing, and introduction to drafting and interpreting contract language. Access this training at education.usw.org

Sign up to receive the monthly Chemical Solutions newsletter at usw.to/ChemicalSolutions. Share the good work you are doing to lhancock@usw.org so your local’s story can be in the newsletter.
