Lucky Friday miners protest outside Hecla after 4 months of striking

The Luck Friday miners, who have been on strike since March, surrounded the headquarters of Hecla Mining Company in Coeur d’Alene on Wednesday. The miners have been without a steady pay check for several months but said they are willing to fight for as long as it takes.

"Just don't appreciate none of them at all, the corporate or nothing. They don't want to help us. They want the greed,” Judy Pierce said. Pierce's husband has worked the Lucky Friday Mine for more than 40 years. Back at their home, there are seven people living under their roof and being on strike since March has not been easy.

"Everybody I think has their own way of trying to get by. That's just like us. We're trying it every day every day you wake and keep praying and hope it works out," Pierce said ... more here.
