Student Debt Eraser

Union Plus understands the financial burden put on today’s students, and that is why it launched the Student Debt Eraser. The Student Debt Eraser helps union members who have a Union Plus Credit Card, Mortgage or Insurance policy pay down s-debttheir student loan debt with grants of $500.

“Student loans are the biggest obstacle facing Millennials today,” Union Privilege President Leslie Tolf said. We have many young leaders in the union movement that can’t lead because they’re worrying about paying their loans. We at Union Plus want to help with some of that burden.”

College graduates now carry more than $1.3 trillion in student loan debt, and the average debt for each graduate was nearly $30,000. Two-thirds of bachelor’s degree recipients borrow money to attend college, and student loans account for the most common form of increasing debt among Americans ages 18-24.

Union Plus will award union members $150,000 towards student loan debt this year, and these grants will be paid directly to the applicant’s student loan financial institution. Applicants must have at least $10,000 in outstanding debt from federal or private student loans.
