Welcome to the 2024 USW Health, Safety and Environment Conference webpage! The conference will be held in Pittsburgh, Pa., at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center and Westin Hotel on Aug. 18-23.
Registration opens Monday, Feb. 12. Please review the following information to register for the conference, reserve your hotel room and more.
Conference registration
Participants are urged to pre-register and make payments in advance online by credit card or via a checking account. Visa, Mastercard and Discover are accepted, however American Express is not accepted. The early bird registration fee is $400 U.S. per delegate, and is available Feb. 12 to May 17, 2024. The registration fee after May 17 will increase to $450 U.S. Online registration closes on July 31, 2024.
To take advantage of the early-bird registration fee, all balances must be paid in full by May 17, 2024. If there is a remaining account balance after May 17, the registration fee will change to the normal fee of $450.

If you are unable to make a payment online by credit card or via a checking account, you may submit a check by mail made payable to USW Secretary-Treasurer and send it to the address below. Please provide a copy of your registration confirmation. You should indicate the registrant name in the subject line. If the check applies to more than one registrant, please provide a list of names.

If booking by phone, identify yourself as an attendee of the 2024 United Steelworkers Health, Safety and Environment Conference. The final date for booking hotel room reservations is Friday, July 26, 2024.
Notes: A deposit of one night is required. Hotel cancellations will be accepted 72 hours before the arrival date. If a cancellation is not made, the room charge and tax will be billed to the credit card on file. Check-in time is 4 p.m., and check-out time is 11 a.m.

Airline transportation
In cooperation with Direct Travel, Inc., we made special arrangements for air transportation to the conference. Reservations can be made by calling 877-499-1149 and selecting prompt “4” (group meetings). When calling Direct Travel, identify yourself as a participant in the 2024 United Steelworkers Health, Safety and Environment Conference.
In accordance with our established policy, the International Union will not be responsible for the cost of delegate(s) participation. Your local union must bear any expenses for attendance, including airfare and hotel fees.
