The Rapid Response, Legislative and Education Conference will be held April 19–24, 2020 at the Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center in Lewis Center, Ohio.

Every day our Core Issues are being attacked whether it be Collective Bargaining, Healthcare, Retirement Security, Safety and Health or Job Security and Trade including Domestic Economic Issues. Who is making these decisions and will they harm us or benefit us?

During the week, we will discuss Legislation that affects the core issues we value and how having an active Rapid Response Program can benefit our members, their families and communities. We will also participate in a lobby day to enhance our skills and empower locals to take on these issues when we are under attack.

This week will also include different workshops and information that members can take back to their locals. Members will have the option of choosing which workshops they would like to participate in.  The leadership of each local union can determine what is important to them in continuing the activism and direction that will best serve the membership.

We will not be attending Linden Hall this summer and instead running the weeklong Education Program concurrent with the Rapid Response and Legislative Conference for the entire District.

We have reserved 100 rooms at Nationwide with 40 rooms having two queen beds in each room. All rooms include a refrigerator, microwave, safe and coffee maker.

To offset the cost of the rooms, meetings, food, etc., each member will pay a $350.00 registration fee. To reduce the cost and have as many members as possible participate, rooms are based on DOUBLE OCCUPANCY. The District will subsidize the remaining balance. We have also worked with Nationwide to secure an overflow hotel should we need more than the 100 rooms. Rooms will be on a first come, first serve basis.

THE CUT-OFF FOR THE RELEASE OF THE ROOMS IS FRIDAY, MARCH 20, 2020 so please complete your registration form and return it along with your registration fee by March 20. The hotel will not guarantee rooms for us after that date.

As usual, all lost time and expenses must be borne by the local union.
