(1) Financial Training
Class Description: Focuses on the Financial Secretary’s duties and responsibilities, as well as extensive training on the Financial Secretary’s cashbook. There will be an overview of the Excel electronic programs that were developed to ease the officer’s recordkeeping requirements and there will also be instruction on the taxes and reporting requirement of these taxes, as well as USW policies and all reporting requirements for the International, Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor.

(2) Trustee Training
Class Description: Trustees will learn their duties and responsibilities, including instruction on record retention and reporting requirements of the Local Union in addition to being trained on a quarterly audit exercise.

(3) Local Union Administration
Class Description: Examines the roles and responsibilities of local union officers, including how to hold effective meetings, record keeping, developing effective committees, organizing and working with the community.

(4) Every Member an Organizer
*This class will take place on Tuesday, June 16, only. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the class will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. with adjournment by 5:00 p.m. Registrants for this class will only need to report on Tuesday, June 16, only.
Class Description: What is Right to Work and who is behind it? This class will explore the history of Right to Work and the Midwestern attacks on workers. It will then look at current legislative campaigns and internal organizing tactics which will lead into communicating our message and future steps.
