Getting Started Training Request

Update on this course:

The first 2007 “getting started workshop for new editors” was conducted in Pittsburgh for communicators in District 1 in late February. Applications and information for this course was recently sent out to locals in District 9 and District 13. Planning is under way to offer this training for other districts in the fall of 2007.

Getting Started Training Request

The United Steelworkers and United Steelworkers Press Association conduct the “getting started for new editors” training course in various districts when a sufficient number of members request it. This week-long course is designed to help new editors to effectively communicate with the membership, and develop local union newsletters. This course includes a full day of computer training to develop newsletters with a desktop publishing program.

To enable us to carry out this training where the demand is greatest, we are requesting that locals or members complete the form below. This does not obligate a local or a member on attending but just reflects their interest. We will contact you when we are able to put on this course in your district or an area close to you.

When a “Getting Started” course is conducted, a registration fee may be charged to cover for course material and the rental of computers. Locals are responsible to cover participants travel, lodging and wages.
