 Steelworkers Launch Website Exposing ING Group for Questionable Investment and Business Practices

Pittsburgh, PA—United Steelworkers (USW) formally launched the website www.can-you-trust-ING.com to educate the investment community about recent questionable investment and business practices of the Dutch banking giant, ING Group (NYSE: ING).  In addition, the website spotlights ING’s refusal to uphold its own business principles in the area of worker and human rights. 

 

In September, USW members visited ING at the headquarters of its U.S. internet banking operations in Wilmington, Delaware to formally request that the bank use its influence to seek an end to what is currently a 17-month long strike at the National Wire Fabric (NWF), facility in Star City, Arkansas.  The workers were refused a meeting and evicted from the premises.

 

NWF is a subsidiary of Gamma Holding NV, a Dutch conglomerate. ING Group is the
