United Steelworkers to Host International Conference on Communications

Pittsburgh, PA — The United Steelworkers (USW) will be hosting a four-day event, beginning here this Sunday providing communication training to120 local union editors and webmasters from across North America.
The biennial event coincides with the 40th anniversary of the United Steelworkers Press Association (USPA), a group representing over 225 local unions in the United States and Canada.
“Legislation is constantly changing and continually affecting workers thoughout North America,” said USW President Leo W. Gerard. “By providing the proper tools, the United Steelworkers offers continuous training to communicators enabling them to get the union’s message out more effectively.”
USW communication facilitators will instruct courses in writing, editing, layout and design for delegates at the novice, intermediate and advanced levels.
