USW Conferences and Meetings
The United Steelworkers (USW) Purchasing and Travel Department arranges over 200 meetings and numerous conventions each year, ranging from ten participants to 1500 participants. The USW Headquarters offers multiple meeting rooms but at times it is necessary to arrange outside of provided space. The department staff handles everything from hotel contract negotiations, food and beverage needs, audio visual requirements, budgeting of costs and on-site setup, teardown and overall management of the event as needed. Everything is handled with cost in mind.
Who We Are and What We Do The Purchasing and Travel Department is comprised of 8 dedicated staff members covering a variety of responsibilities. Negotiations of major vendor contracts such as used for copiers, printers, mailing equipment, office supplies, car leasing, telecommunications, furniture and other miscellaneous needs only touches the surface of our involvement with USW projects and service for our members.
