I support USW PAC (Political Action Committee) because I know the importance of getting the right elected officials in state and local government that will support all working families.

They make decisions that impact our lives as workers every day. Our elected officials need to work every day to improve the lives of working people. As a contributor to USW PAC I’m joining thousands of Steelworkers in an effort to make sure our voices are heard in the political process. Our contributions to PAC are used to educate our members on candidates that will fight to protect our jobs and our rights at work. The Steelworkers are the only union that uses our own members to work on important elections.

Steelworkers work hard on making sure that the political candidates we support have pledged to represent our right to negotiate for better wages, safe working conditions and quality health care. We need to make sure our voices are heard and that the people we elect in office are held accountable when they are hurting working families.

If we don’t stay informed and in touch on political issues and relevant facts, people will make choices that will come back to haunt them. There are wealthy people, corporations, and special interest groups spending billions of dollars every year to flood the media with misleading information that skews the facts in their favor, making awareness and truth that much more vital.

We fight to make a better world for our children, grandchildren, members, and communities. We have to be at the table or we will be on the menu.
