Union remains committed to reaching agreement fair to both sides.
The USW has been informed by representatives of Region 16 of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) that the NLRB Regional Director will not issue a complaint against Sherwin Alumina concerning the legality of the current lockout of 450 USW Local 235A members and related allegations addressed in the USW’s Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) charges filed in January.
The USW is bitterly disappointed with the Regional Director’s decision, and will appeal the decision to the NLRB General Counsel in Washington, D.C.
The USW remains committed to reaching a fair agreement with the company and an end to the current lockout.
