USW Cares: Continuing to Work in Our Communities

Over the past couple of months, the submissions of good will, volunteerism and generosity of our United Steelworker members and Local Unions was astounding. One of the things we recognized is all of this good work doesn’t happen just during the holiday season – it goes on year round.

We would like to continue to highlight those locals and their members who donate their time, money and assist others. It may be a food collection or a children’s party. Maybe it is assisting the elderly and shut-ins, or feeding those in need. Whatever it is, we want to tell your story.  We’re calling the roundup of work “USW Cares.” Submit your story on the form below and share this link: www.usw.org/uswcares to encourage others to do so.

Maybe these stories will spur new ideas for locals looking to assist their communities in some way and show that we are a union that works in our communities.

You won’t have to write much unless you want to. Just give us a few details and we will assist you. If you have a picture or two or more, please add them with your information. Below is an easy form to provide us with some information and to add photos.  We will feature stories on the USW website, District websites and/or on social media, and maybe our magazine, USW@Work.

Don’t forget to use the #USWCares and #USWWorks hashtags if you post on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram! And don’t be shy about calling your local newspaper, television or radio station, community newsletter or website or other media to ask for coverage of your good work. This is a great way to get our union out there in a positive way and show that we are leaders in our communities.

Thank you for all you do and for allowing us to tell your story.
