USW Cares: Adopt-A-Child Program Gives More Than Expected

235aThanks to the wonderful work from the District 13 Office, the District Women of Steel and union members  across the district, members and their children from Local 235A in Corpse Christi, TX. were able to enjoy a bit of Christmas.

A request went out to Local Unions in District 13 in November to Adopt-A-Child at Local 235A. The amount received was $11,524.16 and the program not only provided gifts for over 150 children, it gave the members of 235A a Christmas, complete with a Christmas tree, a Santa, and a Christmas dinner.

USW Local 235A members have been out of work for over three months and unfair labor practice charges have been filed with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for the unfair lockout.

A special thank you goes out to the District Office, the WOS and all the locals who assisted from Local 235A members and their families who enjoyed a wonderful evening of food, fellowship and gifts.
