House of Representatives is expected to vote on lifting the crude oil export ban this Friday

The House of Representatives is expected to vote on lifting the crude oil export ban this Friday.  USW International President Leo W. Gerard wrote a letter to House members on why the US crude oil export ban needs to stay in place. Lifting the ban will cause thousands of refinery jobs to go overseas, gasoline prices to rise in the long term and our country’s national security to be dependent on the benevolence of OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries).

We need everyone to contact their Representatives and urge them to not lift the ban. To find out who your representative is, go to http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/ and then call them toll-free at 1-866-202-5409.
