Greetings:
We are pleased to announce the convening of the Basic Steel Industry Conference. The conference is made up of all local unions representing workers employed in the basic steel industry. The meetings are scheduled for May 6th and 7th, 2015, at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
There will be a welcoming reception for all participants at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 6th at the Omni William Penn Hotel. The BSIC meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. on May 7th and should conclude by 5:00 p.m. The conference will focus on our upcoming bargaining in 2015 with the major steel and iron ore producers.

Conference Registration
To assist in our planning, we ask that you register for the conference in advance (preferably no later than April 30) by completing the registration form and mailing it along with the registration fee (see below) to: Basic Steel Industry Conference, USW, 60 Boulevard of the Allies, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. Attention: Shirley Schoen.

This call is being extended to Local Union Presidents and Grievance Chairs, but as always, travel expenses and lost time are the responsibility of your Local Union.
Hotel Information
A block of rooms for this meeting has been reserved for check-in on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the rate of $145.00 per night, plus tax at Omni William Penn Hotel, 530 William Penn Place, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15219. For reservations, please call the hotel at 800-THE-OMNI or (412) 281-7100 and identify yourself as attending the USW BSIC meeting. The cutoff date for discounted room reservations is April 24, 2015.
Airline Arrangements
In cooperation with Professional Travel, Inc., we have made special arrangements for air transportation to the conference. Reservations may be made with Professional Travel, Inc. by calling 877-499-1149, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., EST. When calling, please identify yourself as a participant in the BSIC meeting and refer to Group Code: 05STEELUSW. Lowest airfares require at least 14 days advance purchase.
Registration Fee
There is a registration fee of $120.00 per participant for this Conference. Checks should be made payable to USW Secretary-Treasurer.
