Tucson was one of about 150 cities across America where demonstrations took place to protect low wages at fast-food companies. United Steelworkers from around the area were there to support those making minimum wages and to show their dissatisfaction with Burger King evading taxes by moving to Canada.
Many fast-food jobs pay just more than the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour.
Stories of having to rely on public assistance, parents, family, friends or having to live in cars or shelters, keeps everyone on message that $15,000 a year is not a sustainable living wage.
This was the seventh in a series of protests that have been getting progressively bigger and covering more cities in attempts to increase the federal minimum wage.
