Global Union Federation IndustriALL Delivers Letter to Honeywell

With the big rally coming up in Metropolis today, the Global Union Federation IndustriALL followed up today on Honeywell’s failure to respond to the August 18 letter from IndustriALL General Secretary Jyrki Raina to Honeywell CEO David Cote demanding an end to the lockout. A delegation from IndustriALL went today to a Honeywell regional headquarters office outside of Geneva to distribute information and attempt to deliver the letter in person. The delegation was led by IndustriALL Assistant General Secretary Fernando Lopes.

After handbilling some Honeywell staff at the entrance to the building and taking some photos, the delegation went in to seek a meeting. The staff at the front desk told the delegation to leave, to quit shooting video and that there was nobody to meet with.

After some persistence, the building manager met with the delegation, insisting everybody else in the building was occupied with meetings. Eventually she agreed for the delegation to meet with the executive assistant to the senior executive in the building, President and CEO at Honeywell Transportation Systems Terrence Hahn. They had a brief meeting with her in which Fernando delivered the letter and requested that she pass it on to Hahn and ask him to raise it with Cote, which she said she’d do.
