International guests addressed convention delegates today to talk about our various joint efforts we are actively engaged in to advance global union activism, including common political strategies that are best for the working class; joint collective bargaining efforts with common employers in our industries; and international solidarity projects to defend the rights of trade unionists across the globe. Guests included Michael Vassiliadis, President of IG Bergbau, Chemie, Energie; Lucineide Varjao, President CNQ/CUT; Tony Burke, Assistant General Secretary of Unite the Union; and Napoleon Gomez, President and General Secretary of Los Mineros.
