United Steelworkers (USW) International President Leo Gerard spoke with progressive talk show host Leslie Marshall about the President's inaugural address which embraced a progressive agenda and the Republican response to his speech.

After the event, a number of Republicans aired their displeasure to the way the President addressed his base with a message about his vision for the next four years.

"Let's not the right-wing forget, he (the President) won this election by 5 million votes," Gerard said, "This was not a squeaker, this was a landslide."

“The part I liked the best was when he said, "We're not a nation of takers."
