We joined thousands who are all supporting the United Mine Workers Union.

- February 26, 2013 Stephen Skvara, Retired Steelworker, Raised a Voice for Justice The United Steelworkers (USW) issued the following statement from Jim Robinson, Director, USW District 7, in recognition of the death last week of Stephen Skvara, 65, a retired steelworker activist, President of an Indiana Chapter of the Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees (SOAR), and who served on the district SOAR executive board.

- April 21, 2009 District 7 Director, Jim Robinson Jim Robinson, Director of USW District 7, has served the USW for nearly 40 years. He joined United Steelworkers Local 1010 in 1971 when he was hired to work at Inland Steel in East Chicago, Ind. and began work for the union almost immediately, getting elected in 1973 as safety committeeman while assigned to the basic oxygen furnace department.
