
- June 18, 2013 District 13 WOS Answer the Call to Assist Tornado Victims On May 20 2013, a devastating tornado hit Moore, Okla., killing 24 people, including 5 members from union families, and injuring dozens of others. The Oklahoma AFL-CIO identified 1054 members that were affected, with 274 homes damaged but livable, and 105 other members that had total destruction of their homes.
- June 11, 2013 We Pull Together: Rosie the Riveters, Then and Now District 8 Women of Steel Coordinator Karen Shipley had the opportunity to attend the May 22, 2013 event at the Pullman Plaza Hotel to honor Rosie the Riveters. The event was sponsored by the organization called "Thanks! Plain and Simple," whose purpose is to seek, identify, honor and preserve the life lessons and memories of West Virginia Rosie the Riveters.
- May 16, 2013 Local 3657 Steelworker Awarded Catherine Baker Knoll Award On May 9, the Allegheny County Democratic Committee (ACDC) presented United Steelworker (USW) Steffi Domike the Catherine Baker Knoll Award at the Committee’s Jackson-Jefferson Dinner in Pittsburgh, PA.
- May 03, 2013 WOS Local 3657 Purse Donation Drive I hope all is well with you all and that you are enjoying this beautiful Spring weather. I have attached a picture of some of the purses which you so graciously donated to the WOS Local 3657 Purse Drive. As you can see the response was overwhelming. We are still in the process of sorting, packing and repacking for distribution.
- March 25, 2013 Women of Steel Display the USW Colors at Pioneer Days Pioneer Days is an annual event in Kearny, AZ. The four day event is filled activities such as a carnival, a men's softball tournament, the Pioneer Queen contest, music, food and information booths, plus many more vendors and events. And what would an event be without a parade.

- April 21, 2009 Report of the Cananea International Solidarity Trip by Women of Steel On May 27, 2008 fourteen Women of Steel members representing the United Steelworkers gathered in Tucson and caravaned across the Mexican border about three hours into Cananea, Mexico to support striking miners.
- June 12, 2009 WOS Members Learn How Trade Agreements Negatively Affect Mexican Workers In support of the Women of Steel International Solidarity Initiative, USW union sisters representing 6 Districts across the U.S. and Canada traveled to Tijuana, Mexico in April 2008 to participate in a joint Border Tour effort between the Sierra Club and USW Women of Steel to view first hand how NAFTA and other such trade agreements negatively affect workers and communities.
